Since the time pandemic has hit us, most of us have started this trend of work from home. Families are worried and stepping out every day is becoming a challenge for all of us.

As most of the companies have given work from home, a lot of companies do have a majority of them who need to step out as well. When homes were just to come back from office earlier, today it’s no more the same. Pandemic definitely has taught us a way of living isolated and away from people. I feel privileged to work for a role that can be worked from home but what about those who cannot.

Communication, WIFI, Interactions –

A lot of them were captivated to go to the office because they could meet, socialize and work also. This is no more happening today. Online, systems have become the ones we first meet before interacting with anyone. Life has turned out more confused, stressful, than more positive. Staying within the doors can be good but mentally challenging. As social animals, we need to talk, move, and cannot be staying within boundaries. As the saying goes “All work no play, make Jack a dull boy”.

Secondly, communications become slow and virtually connecting is more challenging than meeting someone in person. A lot of things get easier when you meet and talk. There were days when a speaker on the meeting gets disconnected because of a poor WIFI, and all of us get puzzled. I am sure, we all have seen this common scenario. In days, when we truly feel technology has evolved solving problems, there are many problems that can erupt too and with problems not big problems like hacking but simple problems, like getting disconnected over calls, meeting, network issues and yes, you may not have a room dedicated for yourself during work hours.

Productivity can also alter. Managers could find it difficult to connect over calls. In my experience, we can’t scale a person’s productivity if they work from home. But with the concept of macro-management, managers have given the flexibility to complete your tasks without getting involved too much in how much time is spared for work. Some can feel less creative or energetic than finding themselves up for work. Performance issues can crop up as well

Mental Health is Important Too

With a lot of stress today, mental health is a major concern. Socializing does give us a little good moment we discovered. We all have that friend we want to meet over lunch and talk but the pandemic did bring a stop to that. We all have got isolated and talking or connecting over lunch or dinner, trekking and traveling have become a dream to achieve.

Beginning of a strange future or a strange behavior

We are now living in a situation where most of us will be isolated at home. From getting everything delivered at home, even hospitals and medical care, stepping out is no more a necessity. But with changing times, the business will still run and we will have some employees working from home and some employees working on the field. Call it a hybrid culture or a strange culture, but looks like this is going to be the future. New jobs will be created which would need your online presence than offline presence. More houses will be built with office space in mind.

This decade will see a blend of online and offline working patterns
